The FD1 series represents a significant advancement in Modular LED Flat Dome Illuminators, specifically engineered for demanding machine vision applications. Designed with a high-density SMD LED matrix, these units deliver exceptional brightness and spatial uniformity, which are essential for inspecting reflective or complex surfaces.

The structural integrity is provided by a robust anodized aluminum frame featuring lateral T-slots. Consequently, this rigid design allows the illuminator to function as a primary mounting base for the camera, overcoming the mechanical limitations often found in lightweight vision sensors.

Efficiency and longevity are core components of the FD1 architecture. By utilizing patented HTTM (High Thermal Transmission Material) technology, heat is efficiently dissipated from the LEDs to the external chassis. Furthermore, this thermal management stabilizes light output and significantly extends the operating life of the components.

The series is fully compatible with industrial standards, operating on 24V DC and featuring an integrated current driver. This setup ensures consistent performance regardless of power fluctuations.

For seamless integration into automated lines, the FD1 series includes an M8 3-pin connection system. It supports external ON/OFF triggering and PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) for precise dimming control via PLC or PC.

Additionally, the central aperture facilitates easy lens positioning, while the semi-opaline diffusion glass protects the electronics from environmental contaminants. Every unit undergoes a 48-hour stress test, ensuring a reliable, plug-and-play solution for OEMs and system integrators.

The catalog for this series of illuminators is currently being revised and updated.

The development of the FD1 series was driven by the specific technical challenges encountered in modern machine vision integration. Traditional dome lights, while effective at eliminating glare, are often too bulky for compact industrial machinery. Therefore, the primary goal was to replicate the optical characteristics of the Flat Dome principle within a significantly lower profile. This enables high-quality diffused lighting in restricted spaces where a standard dome would be impractical.

In addition to the form factor, the engineering team addressed the mechanical difficulties of mounting vision systems. Since many industrial cameras are not designed to support the weight of large illuminators, the FD1 was conceptualized as a structural component. By making the illuminator rigid enough to act as the camera support, the design simplifies the overall mechanical layout and ensures perfect alignment between the light source and the optical axis.

Finally, the inspiration came from a “ready-to-use” philosophy. Industrial environments require hardware that is easy to deploy without complex external circuitry. By integrating 24V DC compatibility, reverse polarity protection, and a protective diffusion layer, the FD1 series provides a robust, industrial-grade solution that meets the high-reliability standards of modern production lines.
